At Lose the Ticket, our defensive driving program will not only help you maintain a clean driving record, but will help you learn practical tips and defensive driving techniques that can be used on a daily basis. Let's get Started!
1: Get Registered
Our course registration is simple and easy to do. Start by getting your citation and drivers license ready for registration. Next, go to our home page by clicking on either the Red classroom course button or the Green online button. Choose the one that works best for you and your schedule. Next you will have to answer five eligibility questions and then fill out our registration form. After you finish the simple registration process and payment, our staff will verify your information. You will then receive a confirmation email and you are on your way to Lose the Ticket.
2: Choose the format that works best for you
Classes are held in various locations all over the valley for your convenience. Classes are fun, with certified, friendly instructors that give students a chance to ask questions through the course. Students can participate at their own comfort level! There is NO TEST to take. At the end of the 4 hour classroom course you will receive a completion certificate. You are all done; we will notify your court of your completion and handle the rest for you.
Online course, you are able to do the entire course from the comfort of your own home, office, or anywhere with any computer and internet access. After you received our registration email, you will need to fax or email a copy of your ticket, driver license and any court extension paperwork to our office before you can begin the online course. One of our defensive driving staff members will review all of your documentation and verify your eligibility. Once eligibility has been verified, our staff will send you an email with your username and password to get started in the online course. You will be able to log in and out as many times as you like and the system will remember where you left off. This also allows you to take breaks whenever you need too. Your progress is automatically saved for you every time you log off. The course is divided up into 5 sections. Each section has text with videos throughout the course. At the end of each section there are 5 multiple choice questions for review. These quizzes will help prepare you for the final exam. If you have finished the course reading early, you may go back through the course by clicking on the section tabs. You must be online for at least 4 hours before you will see a test icon appear. It is strongly recommended that you review the 5 multiple choice questions at the end of each section for review before attempting the final examination; however, it is not required.
The final exam consists of 25 multiple choice questions and each question is timed at 30 seconds. As long as you read through all the course material and review questions you'll do great on the final exam! You will need to answer 80% correctly on the final exam in order to pass. For any reason you don’t pass the first time around, don’t worry we have a 100% pass guarantee and two retake's are allowed or you may enroll in a classroom course at no additional cost. You are all done; we will notify your court of your completion electronically and handle the rest for you.
*Please Note: You must spend at least 240 minutes (4 hours) participating in either program, and no more than 270 minutes (4.5 hours) maximum. This is an Arizona Supreme court requirement.
3: Completion Certificate
Once you completed our defensive driving program we will automatically send your completion information electronically within one business day to the court and the state. You will also receive an email that you will be able to print out immediately upon completion of the online course for your own records. If you attended a classroom course you will be handed a completion certificate at the end of the course.
